HOTEL YAM can trace its history back to the past of the Yancheng District. After the completion of Kaohsiung Port in 1908, it became the most prosperous place in Kaohsiung at that time. With the evolution of time, it has now become the old town of Kaohsiung City, where cultural heritage and local shops still stand strong. The locals of Kaohsiung love the taste of Yancheng. Therefore, the hostel was named after the Taiwanese pronunciation of "salt" and the English word for "sweet potato", symbolizing Taiwan's land. Everyone is welcome, whether they are from Taiwan or abroad, to explore Yancheng together.

 

In October 2020, the HOTEL LAGOM brand officially entered HOTEL YAM, starting a new journey with HOTEL YAM LAGOM. The original intention of sharing the old Yancheng remains unchanged, but it provides a more comfortable and relaxing service to every explorer.
